Just Like Heaven - Piano Cover

an insane, brilliant cover of this classic Cure song. i wish i could play as brilliantly as he (grantsweep of youtube) does. the cover is done by ear - as are most covers that are done as well as this. its a beautiful version of Just Like Heaven that you just have to hear.

the thing i love about covers like this is that the person covering it adds a bit of themselves to the song that they cherish.

yeah i know... made me tear up. there's just so much emotion in it, he plays it with the feeling you get when you listen to one of the most loved cure songs ever. you could even say it is one of the most loved songs ever.

oh oh no! it brings back many memories, some you forgot you had, or wanted to forget. man, im so glad im not the only who cried when i listen to it, and mucho thanks for commenting - i saw it had 89 views, and thought he should get a comment or something! i havent seen or heard alot of people play like that, and have that ability to give (a great song), and get something back (alot of emotions..)

wow. thank you. thank you for saying that. youre one of the VERY FEW people who have actually acknowledged that truth. i know! instruments can be so underrated! i find it weird that people can have so little appreciation for them. i mean.. everyones like american idol this, next singing sensation that... youll never see like an instrumental competition.

there's guitar hero. its fun! but in reality youre just pushing colored buttons the screen tells you to. people should try playing real guitar, or the accordian, SOMETHING!

yeah i was like oh no! dotn cry! but we can cry togethor ;)

im trying to figure the song out myself, but its soo fuckin hard!! (keyboard, theres no way a piano could ever fit in my apartment). i think ill just do the synths part for the cure song - trust. i used to take lessons (only for 1 year, and that was 7 years ago! so basically ive taught myself what i know so far)

.. well i hope you can play for the world one day .. I know I will be there listening..
I really wish I could play maybe a guitar or the piano.. my Mom wanted me to play the piano when I was a kid she said "i have piano fingers" I guess because they are long? but I want to learn the guitar.. that would be awesome .. me jumping around like an idiot on stage .. that would be great!!
well.. for my bday im trying to go to the opera.. we will see.. most likely will go alone.. =( .. nobody appreciates my taste.. oh well
djscribbles: 11/27/2007 6:33 PM
awws, thanks!

im afraid im not that good. i have small hands, and short arms - playing the guitar is a struggle for me because its hard to hold the guitar and reach the notes farther from my arm. dude, go ahead! learn guitar! you can teach yourself, its pretty simple just takes time

the opera?! NO WAY! dude, you and my mom would get along well. she loves the opera. thats not the only genre she likes though - take a listen to hayley westenra, shes got one of the best voices ever heard.its not really operatic, but its just so gorgeous. i love how youre so open minded! i hate it when people go - yeah, i only like rock. or whatever. appreciating all kinds of music is great

for sure i want to learn the guitar.. i first need to buy a guitar.. can you recomend any?
and I love all music I even listen to country music.. Im really open minded .. I cant stand closed minded people.. there are toooo many things in the world to enjoy foe me to be stuck in one place or one thing.. that would be so boring and lame!
And im sure you are going to play great! and like said when you do you let me know.. I will be the first one there...
real quick back to the music .im not a hug fan or rap or hip hop although when I was a teenager..I listened to old school hip hop.. and Kid Capri (dj) was my next door neighbor so I always had that kind of music blasting.. but its not the same ..

most people start off with accoustic, but i think jumping into electric is just as fun. get a really cheap accoustic ( $100 at target and thats including a tuner and dvd, and book), and get a fender STANDARD stratocaster for the electric, its cheap for an electric ($400 or so - well im sure u can get it since you have those shades!) theyre good for beginners. ive never had an electric before - cant afford it! from what ive heard from the bands i talk to on myspace, strats are solid, and amazing - especially for that price range!

yeah i know!! it breaks my heart when you tell people, oh and i like country too, and their like, "ewww... country sucks ass." seriously, wth?! country has influenced rock in so many ways, and has had one of the best rebels - johnny cash for example!

i spent some time living in houston, texas when i was littler. theyre big on hip hop and country there. rap and all that. so thats how i was introduced

we had rock the bells here, and cypress hill and rage against the machine, public enemy, man - i wanted to go so bad!

I really cant afford the sun-glasses but my credit card can.. lol.. but I will get the guitar as soon as I can.. I have been wanting one for some time now..

I used to live in Texas too! I lived in the Rio Grande Valley .. And I really fell in love with country.. Country is very emotional .. and people who sing country music actually use there VOICE! .. which is so unheard of now a days.

I like Rage Against The Machine and Cypress Hill.. I can live without Public Enemy.. but Rock The Bells must have been off the hook? Hip Hop is not the same not at all.. I used to listen to RUN DMC and Crush Groove and a few others.. hahah I remember me *trying* to break dance in front of my building.. lolol ..
well its has changed.. music and where I live.. it used to be nice ..
we have the same taste in music and thats great cause really nobody cares for what I listen too..
